A Kind Request
Cracking the You Tube Algorythm
Good evening everyone. If you think cracking the algorythm code in Substack, in order to gain more subscribers, is difficult, well hold my beer. Try being a You Tuber.
I have had my own channel, Big Slick Adventures (named after my departed English Bulldog, Slick) now for 5 years and have a whopping 153 subscribers. Now, as much fun as I have with the channel it is, also, a bit frustrating. I never counted on the channel blowing up like otehrs but by now I figured I should have about 500 subs by now. But in the You Tube world I am a small fish in a big pond.
This is where I am requesting some help from all of you. I know some of you already subscribe but it would really help the channel if I got a big boost in subscriber count. This would help give many of my guests more exposure who without them I would not have a channel. But before I drop the link. Let me explain all the fun features my channel has to offer.
Horror Hangouts: These of course have become the flagship of the Big Slick Adventures channel. The Horror Hangouts series is just that , other horror fans along with myself discussing all things horror. Many of my guests, especially my regulars are made up of some of your favorite Horror writing Substackers. Essentially, we all nerd out on horror for a couple hours as evident with the last episode where we discussed our favorite women of the Friday the 13th franchise. Sometimes I will interview indie authors and filmakers.
I Have Such Sights to Show You: As an avid Hellraiser fanatic and noticing that there aren’t whole lot of horror based You Tube chennels that get ti in depth on my favorite franchise on a regular basis, I thought I would do a monthly series where I discuss Hellraiser related topics. Most recently I had the honor of interviewing screenwriter, Peter Atkins, who wrote the screenplays for Hellraiser 2,3 and 4.
Horror and Horror Movie Reviews: These two sections encompass hidden gem horror movie reviews and other general horror related topics.
Tier Lists: I just started this one, earlier in March. My first one I did Final Gals of Horror, where I ranked our favoirte horror heroins by five different tiers. I plan on doing more of these. Though I will probably on occasion do some non-horror tier lists.
Non Horror Content: I am much more than just a horror fan, I am actually quite diverse. In fact Big Slick Adventures didn’t even start out as a horror channel but a travel channel. As I didn’t want to create a seperatre channel ,I just said “Fuck it”, I will put everything into one channel. Here is some of my other content.
Las Vega$: I have had several pilgramages to Sin City and as I watch several other Vegas You Tubers , I decided to upload some Vegas related videos which include; walking tours of the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street. Also, included are dining reviews, hotel reviews and tips for the first time or novice traveler.
Cooking Tips: Over time, I have become quite the BBQ expert, learning how to smoke everything from ribs, brisket, chicken to Thanksgiving turkey and seafood. I have recorded myself handling the flames and smoke that make such delicous food and narate while I am cooking as I offer some sugestions when cooking over a grill or smoker.
The way I figured I have over 700 subscribers on Substack and who knows how many followers. If I get get just a third of you to subscribe to Big Slick Adventures and like a comment on a couple of the videos, it would certainly boost my presence and would greatly be appreciated and would make for a terrific early birthday present..lol.
In turn if you have a You Tube Channel and are in need of subs , I will subscibe to your channel as well as your Substack page , if I haven’t already.
Thank you all for your support. Click thge link below. If you dare.

I've really enjoyed watching your interviews! Sorry for the late share. This came out during one of the weeks I was on Substack very little.
